(Coliseum can be accessed from anywhere, and if you're in the Coliseum you can be in two places at once.)
At any edge of Coliseum, there are two entrances: one for spectators and another for combatants.
Combatants enter the arena to face off against other combatants (players). Before the fight, combatants are allowed to choose any of the Judge's weapons -- a nearly infinite arsenal of anything you could ever use. But anything you break, you buy. Multiple fighters are allowed in a single brawl, but the odds must always be even (no two-against-one matches). Killing your foe is frowned upon, but in some circumstances it cannot be avoided - revival from death comes free of charge form the Coliseum staff. Battles follow the typical Player vs. Player Rules. To request a match, post a new thread (make sure you mark it as OPEN or CLOSED).
Winning a battle may result in varying XP gain. You can also wager a few rupees on yourself, if you can find someone willing to take up your bet. Becoming the champion of a tournament or two will bring more prestigious prizes.
Spectators enter the stands to cheer on (or boo) the combatants, gamble on the fights, and to be entertained. Admission is free, of course. |
